Traditionally each week of the Omer count is focused on a spiritual quality that we all need to have evidenced in our lives. We should use these 50 days to draw closer to God and be a witness for Him. Unlike Lent, we are not asked to give up anything during this time. We can use these 50 days to reflect on the events of 2000 years ago, how we can improve our relationship with Yeshua and others, and how we can better reflect Yeshua to those around us. There are no real guidelines in the Bible for counting the Omer other than to begin the count the day after the day the First Fruits sheaf is waved.
